# Text & Q&A pairs

> Train AI Search and AI Chatbot on text you write or paste, and on exact question–answer pairs.

Not every answer lives on a website or in a file. The console **Sources** screen has two tabs for knowledge you write directly: **Text** and **Q\&A Pairs**.

## Text

Train your AI widgets with text you write or paste — such as policies, product facts, or opening hours.

* Give each text source a **name** and an optional **description**.
* Everything in the content box is trained. Clear, complete sentences give the best answers.
* A character counter shows how much room is left.

## Q\&A Pairs

Teach exact answers to specific questions. Each question is trained together with its answer.

* Group related questions into a named **Q\&A pair set** (for example “Shipping questions”).
* Add up to **200 pairs** per set; each answer can have up to **4,000 characters**.
* Every pair needs both a question and an answer.

## Training

Text and Q\&A sources are saved first and trained when you are ready.

| Status | Meaning |
| - | - |
| **Not trained** | Saved, not yet available to your widgets |
| **Training…** | Training is running |
| **Trained** | Available to AI Search and AI Chatbot |
| **Needs retraining** | Content changed since the last training — retrain to use the changes |
| **Training failed** | Try again |

Sources are trained with the project AI model from [Model Configuration](/Console/ModelConfiguration/Index). Retraining replaces the previously trained content.
